Rothco Vintage M-51 Messenger Bag with Leather Accents

We chose Rothco’s Vintage M-51 Messenger Bag

with leather accents over Rothco's smaller messenger bags because it accommodates the Rothco Tactical Map Case Board (sold separately). It measures 12" X 14" X 5 ¾” and is made of durable heavyweight washed cotton canvas for an authentic vintage look. Great for tablet computers, compasses, maps, compact binoculars, birding charts, planning documents, log books and expeditionary guide books in urban, institutional or wilderness settings. All of this makes it an excellent choice for serious orienteering and birdwatching enthusiasts.

The rear weather flap covers a document and utility compartment that zips open on two sides and swings out like a book to reveal a document sleeve, three utility pockets and five map marker pockets.

On the back of the front main weather flap is a clear plastic map/birding chart sleeve with hook and loop closure.

Under the front main weather flap is a large main compartment which, as shown above, easily accommodates the Rothco Tactical Map Case Board (sold separately).

A small hook and loop pocket with cover flap is perfect for map marker erasing fluid bottles (not included). There's a small open top pocket behind the six map marker pockets, a large hook and loop bottom pocket and two hook-and-loop side pockets for maximum storage.

The main compartment features a large main weather flap with leather accent and a metal turning lock closure.

An outside zipper closure pocket can be accessed without opening the main weather flap.

The smaller of the two side pockets is perfect for any of Rothco's military-grade compasses (sold separately). Secure the compass directly to the bag by running its lanyard through the shoulder strap attachment ring and loop it round the compass before tucking the compass into the pocket.

The larger of the two side pockets is perfect for Rothco's Compact 10 x 25MM Binoculars (sold separately). Secure the binoculars directly to the bag by running the neck lanyard through the shoulder strap attachment ring and loop it round the binoculars before tucking them into the pocket.

Top grab handle and a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap measuring 59” when fully extended provide flexible portability.
